Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS)

What is RFMSS

RFMSS is a standard, integrated system designed to efficiently schedule and manage firing ranges and training areas aboard MCB Quantico. Units can utilize RFMSS to request unit training and track the status of those requests once submitted.

What can RFMSS do?

RFMSS supports all major range management processes including: Range and Training Area (RTA) scheduling; unit and range control approval processes; automation of Range Control Fire Desk operations; and resolution of scheduling, safety, and environmental conflicts. RFMSS also allows training units to reserve RTAs as far as 180 days in advance of the desired training start date.

RFMSS Two Week Calendar

The two week calendar is an interactive spreadsheet that lists all facilities and the availability status of each. The calendar displays in two week blocks. The display can be shifted to reflect the desired two week future time frame as determined by the user. This capability allows the user to input the dates of interest and view the availability of a desired facility. Users can access the two week calendar (need to create a link to   https://rfmss2002.belvoir.army.mil/BUTLER/Pages/Library/LibraryFolders.aspx?p=_11370

How do I get a RFMSS account?

If a unit plans on conducting training aboard CATC or within the FMA a unit representative must first contact the MCB Butler / CATC RFMSS Functional Administrator (FA) Mr. Villarreal at DSN 315-623-4465 or phillip.villarreal.ctr@usmc.mil and request access.  Once the request has been approved the unit representative will be contacted informing them of the status of the unit’s agreement. Once the agreement is in place, the unit must contact the RFMSS Functional Administrator (FA) who will then send information via e-mail on the individual account request process for their unit. Before a unit can request training via RFMSS, the unit must comply with the CATC Range Safety Officer (RSO) / Range Officer In Charge (ROIC) Requirements as listed in Range Safety.

CATC Camp Fuji RTA / RFMSS Procedures:

Step 1: Request unit account via the RFMSS Functional Administrator.

Step 2: Request individual account via RFMSS website once unit account is created.

Step 3:
Schedule Ranges and/or Training Areas via RFMSS.

Step 4:
Ensure you continue to check the status of your range request in the weeks leading up to your training date via RFMSS.

Step 5:
Upon arrival, ensure a unit representative checks in with the Range Management Section.

Step 6: A unit representative must attend the daily CATC RTA Synchronization Meeting held Mon-Fri at 0830 in the S4 conference room of CATC HQ Bldg 265 in order to confirm reservations of FMA RTAs for the next 72 hours (Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of RTAs).

Step 7:
OIC and RSO check in at Range Control to sign out range equipment. This is done the day of or the day prior to the requested training date. Coordination for weekend training must be done during the daily CATC RTA Synchronization Meeting.
