Several Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji non-commissioned officers visited the Japan Ground Self Defense Force’s High Technical School in Yokosuka, for a professional military enrichment event, July 24, 2023.

The group of NCO’s were accompanied by CATC Camp Fuji’s sergeant major, Sgt. Maj. Restituto Paz.

While visiting the school, Marines learned about subjects students are learning and activities the students participate in while away from the classroom.

HTS is a military boarding school for boys.

It is considered a privilege to attend the high school.

A small number of students who graduate from HTS are given the opportunity to attend Japan’s National Defense Academy to become an officer or join the JGSDF as a leading private, with opportunities to promote to sergeant.
