Operational Range Clearance and Maintenance commenced for Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Pu’uloa Training Facility, Foxtrot Range, Feb. 23, 2023. The ORC serves to remove unexploded ordinance and range debris from the operational ranges and the mining of munitions from the impact berms on ranges. Marines in the course trained for and demonstrated capabilities across the six activities of AGS: forward arming and refueling, airbase ground defense, airfield damage repair, aircraft salvage and recovery, base recovery after attack, and airfield operations. This course is designed to equip noncommissioned officers in AGS units with the knowledge and experience to be technically proficient, and develop them as strong, effective leaders. Haideeth Porras, a San Diego native and an embarkation and logistics specialist with III Marine Expeditionary Force Support Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group shares her experiences in the Marine Corps and her first time in South Korea on U.S. Army Garrison Casey, Gyeonggi, South Korea, Feb. 4, 2023. The Fallbrook Union High School graduate participated in Bushido Strike 23 on her second rotation in the Republic of Korea.
